In September 1981, Sandra Day O’Connor became the Court’s 102nd justice and its first female member. I’d like to take a moment to tip my hat to this trailblazing woman. So many decisions that directly affect our lives as Americans have been influenced or made by this awesome woman. I hope Bush nominates another woman, and I hope that they get another moderate.

Powerful women of all stripes deserve your respect. This one deserves more than that. Sandy, it’s been an honor.
